About FruskaGora.com

An independent guide to Fruška Gora, written for travellers who want more than a quick stop between Belgrade and Novi Sad.

FruskaGora.com exists because this small mountain deserves more than a line in a Serbia itinerary. It is an independent travel guide to the monasteries, wine villages, towns and trails of Fruška Gora — written to be genuinely useful before you go and while you are there.

What we cover

  • How to get to the mountain from Belgrade and Novi Sad, with realistic journey times.
  • Which tours are worth booking, ranked honestly and updated as ratings change.
  • What to see — sixteen monasteries, Sremski Karlovci, Petrovaradin, Vrdnik and the national park.
  • Where to sleep, from spa hotels to wine-town villas.
  • When to come, what to pack and how to behave in a working monastery.

How we research

Historical dates, opening arrangements and journey times are checked against official sources, the national park, transport operators and booking platforms, and reviewed regularly. Tour ratings and review counts come directly from GetYourGuide. Where a figure moves around — timetables, ticket prices, festival dates — we give an approximate figure and say so, rather than pretending to a precision that does not exist.

Where we express an opinion, it is an opinion. We tell you when a day trip skips the monasteries, when a lake is not for swimming, and when the cheaper option is the better one.

How the site is funded

We are a GetYourGuide affiliate partner and link to Trip.com for accommodation. If you book a tour or a room through a link on this site, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That is the only way this guide is funded — there is no advertising, no sponsored placements and no paid inclusion in any ranking. Read the full affiliate disclosure.

Corrections

Timetables change, cellars close, hotels change hands. If something here is out of date or wrong, please tell us — we would rather fix it than defend it. Write to us on the contact page.

Plan your day in the hills

Monasteries, wine cellars and a fortress — in one day

Fruška Gora sits between Belgrade and Novi Sad, but its sights are scattered and buses are thin. A guided day trip strings together the monasteries, Sremski Karlovci and a bermet tasting without the logistics.
